How does it work?
Botox is a neurotoxin that temporarily relaxes muscles responsible for wrinkles and fine lines. By blocking nerve signals in specific areas, Botox minimizes the appearance of dynamic wrinkles, resulting in smoother, younger-looking skin.

Where can Botox be injected?
While Botox can be injected in various areas, the most popular areas include the forehead, frown (between the eyebrows / glabella), and the outer corners of the eyes (crow’s feet). In addition, Botox can also be injected into the masseter muscles (which can offer relief for those who suffer from teeth grinding or TMJ pain), platysmal bands and digastric muscle of the neck, mentalis muscle for dimpling in the chin, upper lip for softening of vertical lip wrinkles and underarms and hands for excessive sweating. Plus, Botox can also be strategically injected in certain areas for the treatment and prevention of migraines.

How Many Units do I need?
The Botox dosing for each patient is going to be individual, and it’s very important that you see your medical provider to determine how much you need. However, just so you have an idea, the standard dose for the frown is 20 units. For the forehead, standard dosing is between 10-20 units, and for the crow’s feet area, it’ll be about 10-15 units. The recommended FDA standard dose for all three areas is 64 units.

How is Botox different from filler?
While Botox addresses wrinkles caused by muscle movement, dermal fillers plump up and add volume to areas that have lost elasticity. Botox treats lines such as crow’s feet, while fillers target static wrinkles like smile lines and add volume to lips and cheeks.

How long does Botox last?
Results typically last around 3 to 4 months.

At what age should I start getting Botox?
Age is not the sole factor in determining when you should start getting Botox, rather, it’s the appearance of wrinkles. Some individuals start in their late 20s for prevention, while others begin in their 30s or later.

Are results instant? How long does Botox take to start working?
No, results are not instant. You might notice initial results within a few days, with the full effect becoming visible in about 2 weeks.

What can I expect at my treatment?
Our experienced injectors will evaluate you during a consultation and discuss your goals. The injections are relatively quick, and any discomfort is very minimal.

Is there downtime?
There is minimal downtime with Botox. In fact, you can get treated on your lunch break and return to your daily routine immediately after the treatment.

What should I NOT do after getting Botox?
After your Botox treatment, we recommend avoiding strenuous exercise for 24 hours and refraining from rubbing or massaging the treated areas. Additionally, avoid lying down flat for at least 4 hours post-treatment.
